JABLOTRON JA-162J One-way-Two Button Keyfob
Introduction
The JA-162J is a component of the JABLOTRON 100 system. It uses one-way communication. It is designed to remotely control a security system, various appliances (using PG programmable outputs), or to trigger panic alarms. The remote control can also be enrolled to multipurpose relays such as the AC-16x series for direct relay control according to the pre-set mode. The remote is equipped with optical and acoustic indication. It checks its battery status and indicates when the battery is nearly discharged.
Control Panel
- The control panel has to be in service mode.
- Basic procedures.
- Go to the F-Link software, select the required position in the Devices tab, and launch enrollment mode.
- For the transmission of an enrollment signal, press and hold buttons (A+B) simultaneously for at least 3 s (within this time, the red LED flashes rapidly).
- Release both buttons and close enrollment mode.
Setting the Properties
Perform settings using F-Link software – Devices tab. Click on the JA-162J´s Internal settings. Then a window appears automatically where you can set the following parameters:
Functions of the buttons: set a particular function for the pair of buttons A+B (setting / unsetting, typically, OFF / ON switching of some appliance, etc.) or a function for each single button A, B (gate opening, garage door opening, etc.) and a double press of the A+B buttons, i.e,. The next button on the remote. For an overview, ew Table 1.
Take over a user´s access privileges: Taking over a user´s access privileges for the time-limited access according to the specific user, it respects individual access to the controlled section and also limits access to a section if pre-set. Factory settings: disabled.
Take over a user´s identity: The selected user will be visible as a source in the event log
Factory settings: disabled.
Operation
The remote control can also be enrolled in a multipurpose relay of the AC-16x series to control a relay according to the chosen mode. Each button should be enrolled in the MPR with a different mode. One remote can be enrolled in multiple MPRs, for example, with a different function. When you enroll a keyfob to the control panel and also to an MPR within its RF range, don´t select the same buttons. To enroll a keyfob in an MPR, follow the installation manual of the MPR.
LED Indication Table
| Action | Indication |
| Activation (pressing) the button | 0.5 s flash of red LED 1x short acoustic signal |
| Send enrollment signal | 1 s flash of red LED |
| Deactivation (turn off) keyfob lock or deactivation of the acoustic indication | 0.5 s flash of red LED 1x short acoustic signal |
| Activation (turn on) keyfob lock or activation of the acoustic indication | 2x 0.5 s flash of red LED 2x short acoustic signals |
| Low battery | Short flash of red LED 3x short acoustic signals |
| Holding the button – transmitting of maintained signal for PG copy | flashing 2x per 1s 1x short acoustic signal |

Q: What does “one-way” communication mean for this keyfob?
“One-way” refers to the fact that the keyfob instructs the alarm system without getting any confirmation or feedback signals.
Q: How do I know if the key fob has successfully sent a command?
If the signal reaches the attached control panel, it will execute the designated operation.
Q: What type of battery does the JA-162J keyfob use?
A common lithium coin cell battery (usually CR2032) powers the keyfob. For information on the precise model and replacement process, consult your handbook.
Q: How do I replace the battery safely?
Carefully open the keyfob’s housing, take out the old battery, and put in a fresh one that is polarity-correct. To stop corrosion, keep your fingertips away from the battery contacts.
Q: What is the typical battery lifespan?
The battery has a two to three-year lifespan under typical usage.
