    Safety Instructions

    1. Do not leave the appliance when plugged in. Unplug it from the outlet when not in use and before servicing.
    2. Do not use outdoors or on wet surfaces.
    3. Do not allow it to be used as a toy.
    4. Close attention is necessary when used by or near children.
    5. Use only as described in this manual.
    6. Use only the manufacturer’s recommended attachments.
    7. Do not use with a damaged cord or plug.
    8. If the appliance is not working as it should, has been dropped, damaged, left outdoors, or dropped into water, return it to a service center.
    9. Do not unplug by pulling on the cord.
    10. To unplug, grasp the plug, not the cord.
    11. Do not handle the plug or the appliance with wet hands.
    12. Do not put any object into openings.
    13. Do not use with any opening blocked.
    14. Keep it free of dust, lint, hair, and anything that may reduce air flow.
    15. Keep hair, loose clothing, fingers, and all parts of the body away from openings and moving parts.
    16. Turn off all controls before unplugging.
    17. Use extra care when cleaning on stairs.
    18. Do not use to pick up flammable or combustible liquids, such as gasoline, or use in areas where they may be present.
    19. Do not pick up anything that is burning or smoking, such as cigarettes, matches, or hot ashes.
    20. Do not use without the dust bag and/or filters in place.
    21. Polarization instructions.

    Assembly

    1. Remove the connecting screw from the vacuum cleaner handle.
    2. Insert the handle into the main body of the vacuum cleaner, then tighten the screw (provided) to secure it.Insignia-NS-VCS50BK7-2-in-1-Vacuum-Cleaner-Fig-4
    3. Insert the handle/main body assembly into the suction head until it clicks into place.Insignia-NS-VCS50BK7-2-in-1-Vacuum-Cleaner-Fig-5
    4. Wrap the power cord on the power cord holder until you are ready to use it.

    Use

    1. Rotate the top power cord holder, then uncoil the power cord.Insignia-NS-VCS50BK7-2-in-1-Vacuum-Cleaner-Fig-6
    2. Plug the power cord into a wall outlet.
    3. Step on the suction head (anywhere) and tilt the handle back to a comfortable position.
    4. Press the ON/OFF button to turn on the vacuum cleaner, then begin vacuuming.Insignia-NS-VCS50BK7-2-in-1-Vacuum-Cleaner-Fig-7

    Using the handheld cleaner

    1. Press the release buttons on both sides of the handle to release the handheld cleaner.
    2. Grasp the hand grip of the handheld cleaner and pull it away from the vacuum cleaner.
    3. Insert the crevice tool, combination brush, or “T” brush into the suction head.
    4. Press the ON/OFF button to turn on the handheld cleaner, then begin vacuuming.
    5. Reattach the handheld cleaner to the vacuum cleaner, making sure it snaps into place.

    Cleaning

    1. Remove the handheld cleaner as described in “Using the handheld cleaner” on page 8.
    2. Push the button on the top of the handheld cleaner, then separate the motor from the suction head.
    3. Remove the dirt cup, cloth bag, and filter from the suction head.
    4. Dump the dust from the dirt cup and clean the filter and cloth bag (which is washable).
    5. Reattach the cloth bag, filter, and dirt cup to the suction head.
    6. Reattach the handheld cleaner to the vacuum cleaner.

    Troubleshooting

    Problem Possible cause Possible solution
    Your vacuum cleaner does not work The vacuum cleaner is unplugged. Make sure that the vacuum cleaner is plugged in and that the plug is pushed completely into the outlet.
    Your vacuum cleaner has no suction power Clogged dust bag or filter. Clean and wash the dust bag and filter.
    The dust cup is full. Empty the dust cup.
    The dust cup is installed incorrectly. Remove the dust cup and reinstall it correctly.

    How to obtain warranty service?

    If you purchased the Product at a Best Buy retail store location or from a Best Buy online website, please take your original receipt and the Product to any Best Buy store. Make sure that you place the Product in its original packaging or packaging that provides the same amount of protection as the original packaging. To obtain warranty service, in the United States and Canada, call 1-877-467-4289. Call agents may diagnose and correct the issue over the phone.

    Where is the warranty valid?

    This warranty is valid only in the United States and Canada at Best Buy branded retail stores or websites to the original purchaser of the product in the country where the original purchase was made.
