Palmer PWT08MK2 Pedalboard Power Supply

Introduction
An unbalanced high-impedance cable routing is susceptible to hum and other noise. The Palmer PWT08MK2 Pedalboard Power Supply ensures clean and stable power for your pedals, while the PAN16 is a passive DI box with 8 independent channels in the 19“ format. Almost all sockets and switches are located on the front panel, with only the XLR output jack and parallel LINK sockets on the rear panel.

Connections
The PAN16 has eight independent channels. The following description applies to each of the channels 1 – 8. Unbalanced instrument cables should not be longer than necessary. Therefore, the PAN16 should also be set up near the unbalanced source. The low impedance balanced output signal is available on the rear panel XLR/m socket. The assignment of the socket is standard, with a hot PIN 2. The connection to a mixer input is performed with a balanced, shielded microphone cable. The cable length is not critical and may be 100 feet or more, without an audible deterioration of the signal.
The Merge Links / In Function
Alternatively, the PAN16 also offers the possibility for the stereo signal, such as that of a keyboard, to sum to a mono signal and to direct it as a balanced mono signal to the PA system. The mono summed looped signal is present on the rear panel LINK socket.

Pad Switch
To do this, connect the amplifier output with the “Input” socket and loop the signal to the speakers via the “LINK” socket. Both cables must be speaker cables with an appropriate cross-section. A total of three attenuation levels are available: -10 dB, -20 dB, -30 dB (both PAD switches pressed down). To avoid clipping, the amplifier power should not exceed 100 watts
Gnd Lift Switch
This leads to grounding for these devices, and as a result, it may cause the so-called ground loop hum. But since it is sufficient to connect the ground on one side only for shielding purposes, the “GND LIFT” switch on the PAN16 enables the separation of PIN 1 from the ground.
This prevents ground loops and associated humming noises. In practical use, by trial and error, choose the position of the switch that causes the least noise.

FAQs
Q: What is the Palmer PWT08MK2?
A professional pedalboard power supply, the PWT08MK2 reduces noise and interference by delivering clean, isolated power to several guitar or bass effects pedals at once.
Q: How many pedals can it power?
Each of the eight isolated outputs on the PWT08MK2 can offer a different voltage and current. Verify the power needs of your pedals to make sure they are compatible.
Q: Are the outputs isolated?
Indeed. The complete isolation of each output helps avoid hum, ground loops, and pedal cross-talk.
Q: Can I use it for digital pedals or multi-effects units?
Yes, provided that one of the PWT08MK2 outputs can handle the voltage and current requirements of the pedal.
Q: Can I daisy-chain pedals from a single output?
It is not advised for digital pedals or high-current devices because it could result in noise or voltage loss, but it is feasible for low-current analogue pedals. Always start by checking the pedals’ current draw.
Q: Does the PWT08MK2 reduce noise in my signal chain?
Indeed. Your effects pedals will have a cleaner tone thanks to the isolated outputs and controlled DC, which reduce interference and hum.
Q: How do I power the PWT08MK2 itself?
An external AC adaptor is included with the device. Attach it to the input of the power supply after connecting it to a typical AC outlet (100–240V). The gadget features built-in safeguards against short circuits and overload.
Q: Can I use it internationally?
Indeed. With its 100–240V input support, the provided AC adapter complies with the electrical regulations of the majority of nations. Depending on where you live, you might require a plug adaptor.
