Palmer Tauber Microphone Merge Box
Introduction
The Palmer Tauber Microphone Merge Box works seamlessly with the Palmer Wupper Line Isolation Box, which is equipped with 6.3 mm jack sockets on the input and output sides, operable with both balanced and unbalanced cables. Thanks to galvanic isolation via a high-quality transformer, hum loops are reliably eliminated. This line isolation box is perfect for balancing audio signals and allows long cable runs without introducing noise or interference.

FAQs
Q: What is the Palmer Tauber Microphone Merge Box used for?
Two microphone signals can be combined into a single output using the Palmer Tauber Merge Box without sacrificing audio quality. It is perfect for broadcast arrangements where several microphones must feed one channel, live performances, and studio recordings.
Q: Can I use the Merge Box with instruments or line-level signals?
Although low-level instrument signals can be experimented with if they fall within the voltage restrictions, it is primarily intended for microphone-level signals. Unless otherwise instructed, stay away from high-power line-level transmissions.
Q: Does the Merge Box require external power?
No, it doesn’t need outside power because it is passive. Condenser mics, on the other hand, require phantom power from the mixer or interface.
Q: Can I use it to combine microphones for live PA systems?
Indeed, it is perfect for live sound reinforcement since it enables two microphones to feed a single channel without causing signal loss or noise.
Q: Does merging two microphones affect sound quality?
The Palmer Tauber Merge Box is designed to maintain audio quality by preventing signal deterioration, phase problems, and hum.
Q: Can I use it to combine different microphone types?
Yes, you can combine condenser and dynamic microphones, but make sure the mixer only gives condenser microphones phantom power to prevent harming dynamic microphones.
Q: Can the Merge Box handle stereo signals?
No, it creates a single mono output by combining two mono microphone inputs. Use different channels when recording in stereo.
Q: Is there a maximum input level for each microphone?
Indeed, every input is made for conventional microphone levels, which are usually between -60 and -40 dBu. Steer clear of microphones with exceptionally high outputs since they could overwhelm the device.
