Setup
Weather-resistant Input Cover
The weather-resistant input cover is designed for three different wiring scenarios (see above). To change the configuration of the input cover to support your wiring scenario, cut along the perforation on the rubber conduit.
Indoor-only applications do not require the use of the input cover. If using the wide open rubber conduit configuration, it is the installer’s responsibility to seal against water ingress into the Euroblock connector.
Wiring the Loudspeaker
Wire Gauge
The FreeSpace FS2P loudspeaker is designed to work with 18 AWG (0.8 mm2 ) to 14 AWG (2.1 mm2 ) size wire only.
Connection Diagrams
Expose six millimeters (1/4 inch) of bare wire to attach to the terminals. Note: The loudspeaker is not rated for use with a rigid conduit. The loudspeaker is suitable for a flexible conduit or wiring connection only.
Loudspeaker Settings
Using a Safety Cable
- Some regional construction codes require the use of a secondary method of securing loudspeakers to support structures to provide additional safety.
- Choose a mounting position, method, and hardware consistent with local building codes and regulations.
- Bose Professional recommends using (1) a safety wire or (2) a safety cable as a secondary securing mechanism (not included).
- See the diagram to the right for safety attachment points.
- Follow the manufacturer’s instructions for any secondary securing mechanism implemented.
Mounting the Loudspeaker
Insert the included suspension cable through the cable fastener and wrap the cable around a support structure; secure the cable using the cable fastener.
- To loosen the cable, insert the fastener tool into the release hole and adjust the cable.
- Secure the cable clip to the loudspeaker suspension cable attachment point.
- Pull the loose end of the suspension cable to adjust the loudspeaker to the desired height.
- Once you’ve reached the desired loudspeaker height, cut away any excess cable.
- Trim any frayed filaments with wire cutters after cutting to length.

- Insert the loudspeaker wiring through the rubber conduit of the input cover.
- Wire the connector and insert the connector into the loudspeaker.
- Place the input cover over the connector and press it firmly against the loudspeaker to create a tight seal. Secure the input cover using the input cover screw.
- Use the included cable ties to secure the wiring to the suspension cable.
- Line up the grille with the inside of the loudspeaker enclosure so that the two smallest grille tabs are on either side of the tap switch. Push the grille on the loudspeaker until it is secured in place.
- If necessary, push the grille tabs inward to properly fit into the loudspeaker enclosure.

Removing the Grille
Insert a small tool (no larger than 1.5 millimeters in diameter) through the grille perforation at the edge of the grille and pull to disengage the grille.

FAQs
Q: How should I install the FS2P for optimal performance?
Using the provided cable and mounting tools, hang the FS2P from the ceiling. Place it so that the speaker can cover the designated listening area unhindered. To lessen audio distortion, keep your distance from shiny surfaces and walls.
Q: Can I connect multiple FS2P speakers?
It is possible to link several FS2P devices to a single distributed audio system. To balance output levels, make sure the entire load doesn’t exceed the amplifier’s rated capacity and make the necessary adjustments to the speaker’s power tap.
Q: What are the power and impedance specifications?
With configurable power taps (often 2.5 W, 5 W, 10 W, and 20 W) and an 8-ohm impedance for low impedance applications, the FS2P is compatible with 70V or 100V distributed audio systems. To avoid damage, always make sure the tap you’ve chosen matches the output of your amplifier.
Q: How do I connect the FS2P to an amplifier?
Make use of the input terminals on the speaker’s top. Use the proper power tap to connect 70V/100V systems. Connect to the 8-ohm terminals for low-impedance wiring while keeping an eye on the proper polarity (black = –, red = +).
Q: Is the FS2P weather-resistant?
The FS2P is designed to be used in semi-protected outdoor spaces or indoors. Steer clear of intense weather, rain, and snow. Additional protection could be necessary for fully outside applications.
Q: How do I maintain or clean the speaker?
Use a gentle, dry cloth to clean the grille and cabinet. Water, chemicals, and abrasive cleaners should not be used. Frequent dusting guarantees longevity and the best possible sound quality.
