    Safety Instructions

    1. Do not touch hot surfaces. Use handles or knobs when available.
    2. Close supervision is necessary when any coffee maker is used by or near children.
    3. Unplug from the outlet when not in use and before cleaning.
    4. Allow to cool before putting on or taking off parts and before cleaning the coffee maker.
    5. Do not let the cord hang over the edge of a table or counter, or touch hot surfaces.
    6. Do not place on or near a hot gas or electric burner, or in a heated oven.
    7. Let the coffee maker cool completely before moving it.
    8. Do not use the coffee maker for anything other than its intended use.
    9. To disconnect, turn OFF, then remove the plug from the wall outlet.
    10. The glass carafe is designed for use with this coffee maker.
    11. Never use it on a range top. Do not set a hot carafe on a wet or cold surface.
    12. Do not use the carafe if it is cracked or has a loose or weakened handle.
    13. Do not clean the carafe with cleansers, steel wool pads, or other abrasive materials.
    14. Do not place it in a microwave oven.
    15. The lid on the glass carafe must be closed for brewing.
    16. Fill the water reservoir of this coffee maker with water only. Do not fill with other liquids or foods.
    17. Do not remove the filter basket during or immediately after the brewing cycle.
    18. Scalding water or steam could cause serious injury

    BREWING COFFEE

    First use: Clean your coffee maker before the first use. See “Cleaning your coffee maker” for instructions. You may notice smoke or a slight odor. This is normal and will not happen after a few uses.

    1. Fill the carafe with cool water, then pour it into the water reservoir. Do not fill the water reservoir above the MAX fill line.
    2. Place a paper filter in the filter basket.
    3. Add the manufacturer’s recommended amount of
      coffee for the amount of water you added, increasing or decreasing it depending on your personal taste.
    4. Plug the power cord into a power outlet.
    5. Push the power switch to the ON position. The switch lights red, and the brew cycle starts.
    Pausing to serve

    If the carafe is removed from the warming plate while coffee is brewing, the brewed coffee will not flow until the carafe is placed back on the warming plate. Allow the carafe to fill with at least one or two cups of coffee before removing.

    Keeping your coffee warm

    After the brew cycle is done, the warming plate stays hot to keep your coffee warm. There is no automatic offsetting. Push the power switch to the OFF position when the carafe is empty. Caution: Leaving the coffee maker on for extended periods could damage the carafe and the coffee maker, and could cause a fire hazard.

    Brewing a second pot: Turn off the coffee maker, then allow Insignia NB-COFF15 Coffee Maker it to cool for ten minutes before brewing a second pot of coffee.

    Cleaning

    1. If necessary, remove the paper filter and coffee grounds.
    2. Insert the filter basket.
    3. Fill the carafe to the MAX fill line with cool water, pour it into the water reservoir, then place the carafe on the warming plate.
    4. Plug the power cord into a power outlet.
    5. Push to power switch to the ON position. The power switch lights red, and the brew cycle starts.
    6. When the brew cycle is done, turn off your coffee maker, then unplug it and empty the carafe.
    7. Wipe the outside of your coffee maker with a damp cloth.
    8. Remove the filter basket and carafe, then wash them in warm, soapy water
    For a more thorough cleaning
    1. Pour one cup of white vinegar into the carafe, add cool water to the MAX fill line, then pour the mixture into the water reservoir.
    2. Place the carafe onto the warming plate.
    3. Place a new paper filter into the filter basket, Insignia NB-COFF15 Coffee Maker then insert the filter basket.
    4. Plug the power cord into a power outlet.
    5. Push the power switch to the ON position. The switch lights re,d and the brew cycle starts.
    6. Let the coffee maker brew until the carafe is half full, then push the power switch to the OFF position.
    7. Remove the carafe and let it cool for 15 minutes.
    8. Pour the liquid back into the water reservoir, place the carafe on the warming plate, then turn the coffee maker on again.
    9. When the coffee maker is done brewing, turn it off and discard the liquid in the carafe and rinse thoroughly.
    10.  Let the coffee maker cool for 10 minutes, then run water through your coffee maker to remove any leftover vinegar.
