    Maintaining your boombox

    Care and handling of discs

    Handling discs

Do not touch the playback side of the disc. Hold the disc by the edges so that fingerprints do not get on the surface. Never stick paper or tape on the disc.

    Storing discs

After playing, store the disc in its case. Do not expose the disc to direct sunlight or sources of heat, and never leave it in a parked car exposed to direct sunlight.

    Cleaning discs

Fingerprints and dust on the disc can cause poor sound quality and distortion. Before playing, clean the disc with a clean cloth. Wipe the disc from the center out.

    Insignia-NS-BBBT20 Multi-Function-Bluetooth-Boombox

Do not use strong solvents such as alcohol, benzine, thinner, commercially available cleaners, or anti-static spray intended for older vinyl records.

    Cleaning the CD lens

If your CD lens gets dirty, it can cause poor sound quality. To clean the lens, you will need to purchase a CD lens cleaner, which can maintain the output sound quality of your system. For instructions on cleaning the CD lens, refer to the literature accompanying the lens cleaner.

    Cleaning your boombox

To prevent fire or shock hazard, disconnect your boombox from the AC power source when cleaning. The finish on your boombox may be cleaned with a dust cloth and cared for as other furniture. Use caution when cleaning and wiping the plastic parts. Mild soap and a damp cloth may be used on the front panel.

    Maintaining cassette tapes
To protect your recordings from accidental erasure on one or both sides of your cassette, snap out the tab at the top of the cassette. If you decide later to record on the tape, seal the hole with a piece of adhesive tape.

    Insignia-NS-BBBT20 Multi-Function-Bluetooth-Boombox

A little bit of slack in your tapes can cause scratches on the tape, or worse yet, the tape could break. If you notice some slack in the tape, use a pencil to tighten it up before you insert it.

    FAQs

What devices can I connect to the NS-BBBT20 Boombox?

Any computer, tablet, or smartphone that supports Bluetooth can be connected. The boombox can connect to a variety of audio sources because it also supports AUX-in, USB drives, SD cards, and FM radios.

    Can I connect a non-Bluetooth device?

Indeed. A USB drive, an SD card with MP3 files, or a 3.5 mm AUX input can all be used to connect devices. To choose the appropriate input, just plug in the cable or insert the media, then push the Mode button.

Does the boombox have FM radio?

Indeed. Press the Mode button until “FM” appears to enter FM mode. You can manually tune using the Next/Previous keys or use the Scan button to automatically search for stations that are accessible.

How do I save radio stations?

The boombox automatically stores all of the stations it finds in memory after scanning. You can use the Next/Previous buttons to go through them in order.

    What is the Bluetooth range?

In open areas, the NS-BBBT20’s wireless range can reach up to 33 feet (10 meters). The effective range may be lowered by metal objects, walls, or other electrical interference.

Can I charge my phone with the boombox?

Indeed. When plugged into an outlet, the boombox’s USB charging connector enables you to charge the majority of smartphones and other tiny USB-powered devices.

Can I use the boombox on battery power?

Indeed. AC power or battery power (using C-size batteries, which are offered separately) can power the NS-BBBT20. It is therefore perfect for both indoor and outdoor use.

How do I improve FM radio reception?

To get the strongest signal, extend and adjust the FM antenna wire on the back of the device. Reposition the boombox away from potentially interfering electronics and metal objects for weak stations.
