FAQs
Q: What is the Makita DTC301 used for?
Electrical connectors, terminals, and lugs on copper or aluminium cables can be crimped with the Makita DTC301, a cordless hydraulic crimper. It offers reliable, high-pressure crimps that are perfect for industrial installers and professional electricians.
Q: What type of battery does the DTC301 use?
It is powered by Makita’s 18V LXT Lithium-Ion battery platform, which is compatible with all of Makita’s wide range of LXT cordless tools, including other professional tools like the Makita TW011G Cordless Impact Wrench.
Q: Are the battery and charger included with the tool?
The DTC301 can be purchased as a kit (DTC301RT) with a DC18RC rapid charger and an 18V 5.0Ah battery or as a bare tool (DTC301Z).
Q: What is the maximum crimping capacity?
Depending on the die set and connector type, the crimper can accommodate up to 300 mm² (about 600 MCM). For heavy-duty applications, it provides a potent hydraulic force of 60 kN (6 tonnes).
Q: How long does a single battery last?
Depending on the size and substance of the conductor, a fully charged 5.0Ah 18V LXT battery may normally produce up to 150–200 crimps.
Q: How long does it take to charge the battery?
A 5.0Ah battery may be charged in around 45 minutes using a Makita DC18RC or DC18RD fast charger.
Q: How do I know when a crimp is complete?
When the proper pressure is attained, the DTC301’s automatic pressure detecting system halts the crimping cycle. Completion is verified by the audible tone and LED indicator.
