LAWN MOWING
- A lawn consists of different types of grass. Mowing a lawn often benefits grass with strong roots and forms a thick and firm lawn.
- The normal height for a lawn is about 4–5 cm. Do not cut more than about 1/3 of the height at one go, i.e. from 7–8 cm to normal height.
- Do not mow the lawn shorter than 4 cm; this can cause it to dry out.
- Cut high grass in steps.
- Overlap each row a little when mowing.
- If possible, avoid cutting wet grass. Cut the grass when it is dry.
- Be very careful when changing direction on slopes. Always maintain a firm footing and good balance. Work across slopes, never up and down.
- Do not mow slopes with a gradient of more than 15° – risk of personal injury.
GRASS CATCHER
The grass catcher has a level indicator. It is held open by the flow of air produced by the product when in use. When the flap closes during mowing, this means that the grass catcher is full and must be emptied. Check that the opening under the flap is clean and lets through air; otherwise, the level indicator will not work properly. Empty the grass catcher if grass cuttings are left on the ground.
WARNING! Switch off the product, wait until all moving parts have completely stopped and remove the safety key before removing the grass catcher.
Emptying the grass catcher
- To remove the grass catcher, lift the flap with one hand, grip the grass catcher handle with the other, and lift out the grass catcher.
- When the grass catcher is removed, the flap falls and covers the ejector opening.
- If there is grass left in the opening, pull the lawnmower backwards about 1 metre to make it easier to start the motor.
- Never clear the mower deck or blade with your hands or feet – use a brush or other suitable tool. Clean the grass catcher after it has been used for best functionality, especially the air grille.
- Lift the ejector flap with one hand and hook the grass catcher from above with the other hand. Only fit the grass catcher when the product is switched off and the moving parts are not moving.
