FAQs
Q: What is the FRIGIDAIRE EFIC117 Ice Maker?
This small, portable ice maker can generate up to 26 pounds (12 kg) of ice a day, making it ideal for usage at home, at work, or in small businesses.
Q: What type of ice does the EFIC117 produce?
It creates crescent or bullet-shaped ice cubes that can be used for general chilling as well as drinks and cocktails.
Q: Can I use the ice maker continuously?
Yes, however, the water tank needs to be refreshed, and the unit needs to be watched. Don’t let the machine operate without water.
Q: Can I leave water in the reservoir when not in use?
No. When the unit is not in use, empty the reservoir to avoid the accumulation of germs, mould, or minerals.
Q: Can I use the ice maker for parties or events?
It is appropriate for producing ice continuously for small events. To ensure optimal production, regularly empty the ice bin and replenish water.
Q: How do I troubleshoot ice that melts too quickly in the bin?
To keep the interior temperature lower, keep the lid closed. Don’t keep ice in the bin for longer than a day. Move to a freezer-safe container for long-term storage.
Q: Why does the unit emit a plastic or chemical odour when new?
During the initial cycles, new units may release a slight odour. The ice should be run with water just for one or two cycles before being thrown away.
Q: Can I use flavoured water or soda in the ice maker?
No, you should only use drinkable, pure water. Liquids with added sugar or flavour may harm the internal components and ice mould.
