FAQs
How do I prepare fruits or mushrooms before drying?
Rinse well, peel if needed, and cut into even slices, about 3 to 5 mm thick. Before drying, soak fruits that are prone to browning, such as apples, in lemon water for five minutes.
Can I dry herbs or other foods in this dryer?
It is possible to successfully dry herbs like basil, thyme, and rosemary at lower temperatures (around 40–50°C). Steer clear of foods heavy in fat or oil.
Is the dryer energy efficient?
Indeed, the Menuett 005908 is made to operate efficiently on little power throughout lengthy drying cycles. For comparable amounts, it uses less electricity than an oven.
How do I clean the trays and dryer unit?
After removing the trays, wash them with warm, soapy water. Use a moist towel to clean the main unit. Avoid using abrasive cleansers or submerging the main unit in water.
Can I leave the dryer unattended during operation?
Yes, however, it’s advisable to occasionally assess the development. Although the unit includes an automatic thermostat, it is not advisable to leave it running unattended overnight for safety reasons.
How should I store dried fruits and mushrooms?
To maintain flavour and stop moisture absorption, store dried goods in airtight containers in a cool, dry, and dark environment.
What should I do if the dryer doesn’t turn on?
Verify that the unit is turned on, the socket is operational, and the power cord is securely plugged in. Get in touch with customer service if the issue continues.
