FAQs
Q: What are the main features of the Miyota Cal. FS80 and FS81 movements?
Ans: The quartz chronograph movements FS80 and FS81 have a 24-hour subdial, a date display, and a stopwatch mode with a 1/5-second accuracy. There is also a day-of-the-week display on the FS81.
Q: How do I set the time on the FS80/FS81 movement?
Ans: To change the hour and minute hands, spin the crown to the second position. To begin the movement, insert the crown again.
Q: How do I adjust the date and day (FS81 only)?
Ans: Pull the crown to the first position and turn it in a single direction for the date. When in the first position, rotate the crown in the other direction for the FS81’s day display. To avoid harm, don’t change the date or day between 9 PM and 3 AM.
Q: How do I operate the chronograph?
Ans: To start and stop the stopwatch, press the top pusher (Button A). After stopping, reset the chronograph hands to zero by using the bottom pusher (Button B).
Q: What battery type do these movements use and what is the expected battery life?
Ans: Their silver oxide battery, the SR920SW, has an average lifespan of two to three years, depending on usage.
Q: Does the FS80/FS81 have a hacking feature?
Ans: No, when the crown is pulled out, these motions do not halt the seconds hand.
Q: How accurate are the FS80 and FS81 movements?
Ans: They consistently retain an accuracy of about ±20 seconds per month, which is typical of premium quartz movements.
Q: What should I do if the chronograph hands are misaligned?
Ans: Utilising the pushers, move the chronograph hands to their zero positions after pulling the crown out to the second position. Once aligned, push the crown back in.
