FAQs
Q: What does the 24-hour subdial do?
Ans: The hour hand in 24-hour format is reflected in the 24-hour subdial. It is not an indicator of the second time zone or GMT. It aids with AM/PM time differentiation, which is particularly helpful when using a calendar or alarm clock.
Q: My watch shows the wrong day or date after setting—what went wrong?
Ans: To check, use the 24-hour subdial. You are in PM if it displays “13” even though your primary hour hand reads 1.
Q: Does the JP series support a chronograph (stopwatch) function?
Ans: No, the JP11, JP15, and JP25 multi-function movements are not chronographs, and the subdials are not utilised for timing but for calendar and 24-hour time functions.
Q: How long does the battery last in these movements?
Ans: Depending on usage, a new battery (SR621SW or comparable) usually lasts two to three years. Excessive use of any such features could marginally shorten battery life.
Q: Is my watch water-resistant with a JP movement?
Ans: The watch case, not the movement, determines whether the watch is water resistant. Verify the manufacturer’s specifications (such as “50M” or “5ATM”) or the case back.
Q: I see a small hand stuck at 6 or 9 o’clock—what is it for?
Ans: Try resetting your watch using the correct crown placements if it appears strange or stuck. A service might be necessary if it doesn’t move after a while.
Q: Can I replace the JP movement myself?
Ans: Yes, if you feel at ease using the instruments and methods for watch repair.
