FAQs
Q: How do I set up my Russell Hobbs 20920-56 Crepe Maker for the first time?
Remove all packing components and use a moist towel to wipe the cooking surface before using. To prevent the batter from burning off any protective covering, plug the pancake maker in and let it preheat for five minutes. It is quite typical and transient for a faint smell or light smoke to develop.
Q: What is the cooking plate made of?
The non-stick coated frying plate of the Russell Hobbs 20920-56 is made to make cleaning and removing crepes simple. Steer clear of metal utensils to maintain the longevity and quality of the coating.
Q: Do I need to grease the plate before every crepe?
Not always. Lightly grease the surface of the first few crepes. After that, the non-stick coating should make it easier to cook without added fat.
Q: What size crepes can I make with this model?
With its 30 cm (12-inch) frying surface, the Russell Hobbs 20920-56 Pancake Maker is perfect for making pancakes, dessert wrappers, and traditional French pancakes.
Q: How long does it take to cook a crepe?
Each pancake typically takes one to two minutes on each side, depending on the temperature and batter thickness. As the surface reaches the ideal temperature, the initial pancake could take a little longer.
Q: How do I prevent my crepes from sticking to the surface?
Before adding batter, make sure the plate is adequately heated. Avoid spreading the batter too thinly, and lightly grease the surface. Before the next batch, thoroughly clean the plate and re-season with a little oil if sticking continues.
