    3. Keep children and onlookers at a safe distance when using power tools.
    4. The plug on the power tool must match the power outlet.
    5. Never modify the plug in any way. Never use an adapter with earthed power tools.
    6. There is an increased risk of electric shock if your body is earthed.
    7. Do not expose power tools to rain or moisture.
    8. There is a greater risk of electric shock if water gets into a power tool.
    9. Keep the power cord away from heat, oil, sharp edges and moving parts.
    10. Damaged or tangled power cords increase the risk of electric shock
    11. Only use an extension cord approved for outdoor use.
    12. Cords intended for outdoor use reduce the risk of electric shock.
    13. Remove Allen keys/spanners, etc., before starting the power tool.
    14. Allen keys, or the like, left in a rotating part of a power tool can cause personal injury.y
    15. Do not overreach. Always maintain a firm footing and good balance.
    16. This will ensure you have better control over the tool in unexpected situations.ns

    Dust Extraction

Dust from some materials, such as lead-based paint, certain types of wood, minerals, and metals, can be harmful to health and, in some cases, toxic. Touching or inhaling sanding dust can cause an allergic reaction and/or respiratory problems.

Dust from oak and birch, for example, is considered to be carcinogenic, especially in combination with some wood treatment agents. Materials that contain asbestos should only be handled by qualified personnel.

    • Always use dust extraction.
    • Make sure the work area is well ventilated.
    • Wear a dust filter mask.
    • Always follow the instructions for the actual material.

    Use

Changing the Position of the Die Holder

The position of the die can be adjusted 360°. There are 4 fixed positions at intervals of 90°. Follow the instructions below to set the required position.

    • Remove the hex screw (2) with the supplied hex key (7).
    • Turn the die holder (5) to the required position, so that the corresponding hole in the die holder (5) is aligned with the hex screw (2).
    • Tighten the hex screw (2) with the supplied hex key (7).
    • Turn the die holder a little (5) to check that it is locked in the required position.

    Permissible Material Thickness

The maximum cutting capacity depends on the mechanical properties of the material. Never attempt to cut material thicker than specified in the technical data.

    Fitting & Removing

    •  To remove the punch (9) and die holder(5), undo the hex screw (2) with the supplied hex key (7).
    • Pull the die holder (5) out of the product.
    • Put the new supplied punch (9) in the punch holder (11) and align the hole in the punch (9) with the hex screw (8).
    • Firmly tighten the hex screw (8) to lock the punch (9) in place. Put the die holder (5) over the punch holder (11).
    • Tighten the hex screw (2) with the supplied hex key (7). Turn the die holder a little (5) to check that it is locked in the required position.

    Starting/Switching off

    • Put the power switch (1) in position O.
    • Put the power switch (1) in position I.

    Lubrication

    • Apply machine oil along the cutting line to increase the life span of the punch (9) and die holder (6).
    • This is especially important when cutting aluminium.

    Cutting

    • Hold the product at right angles (90°) to the workpiece when cutting.
    • Move the product along the cutting line by applying a little pressure.

    Maintainance & Cleaning

Switch off the multi-sander and pull out the plug before checking, cleaning, maintenance or adjustments, and before changing accessories.

    • Keep the multi-sander and its ventilation openings clean for best functionality and life span.
    • Clean the product and accessories every time they have been used.
    Storage
    • Store the multi-sander in a dry, cool place out of the reach of children.
    • Protect the multi-sander from direct sunlight. If possible, store the multisander in the dark.
    • Do not store in a plastic bag; this can result in the accumulation of moisture.

    FAQs

Q: Do I need to lubricate the cutting parts?

To extend the life of the die and punch, apply machine oil along the cutting line. This is particularly crucial when cutting aluminium.

Q: What is the minimum size of a hole required to start cutting a sheet?

In order to start cutting within a workpiece, the die holder must fit through a hole that is at least 22.5 mm in diameter.

Q: How should I dispose of the tool at the end of life?

In order to ensure appropriate recycling, the handbook advises disposing of the product in accordance with regional electronic waste laws and the EU’s WEEE Directive (or its equivalent).

Q: What type of materials can this nibbler cut?

Up to the thickness specified by the manufacturer, it can cut sheet metals such as aluminium, mild steel, and thin stainless steel. Before cutting, always refer to the manual’s maximum gauge specifications.

Q: Can I make curved cuts with this nibbler?

The Meec Tools 021419 can indeed cut circles and curves in sheet metal. To avoid jagged edges, use slow, deliberate passes and let the tool naturally follow the desired path.

Q: What warranty or service options are available?

For material and workmanship flaws, Meec Tools usually provides a limited manufacturer’s guarantee. For information on the length of the warranty and service contracts, consult the user manual or your purchase receipt.
