Safety Instructions

Read all instructions before use.

• Put all buttons and knobs into the ‘off’ position and unplug the appliance by grasping the plug.

Installation

• Remove the exterior and interior packing, wipe the outside thoroughly with a soft dry cloth, and the inside with a wet, lukewarm cloth.

Door Conversion

If you need to hinge your door on the opposite side, it is recommended that you call your local authorised service agent to make this conversion or ask a technician. Before you reverse the door, you should ensure the appliance is unplugged and empty. After reversing the door, leave the appliance alone for at least 2 hours before switching it on. This allows the coolant to set.

1. Remove the upper hinge cover. Remove the upper hinge.
2. Move the screw covers from one side of the DOMO DO91308C Fridge-Freezer Combination, the upper door to the other. Then remove the upper door and place it on a soft surface to avoid scratching it.
3. Remove the middle hinge. Remove the lower door and place it on a soft surface to avoid scratching it.
4. Move the cover caps from one side to the other.
5. Remove the lower hinge and the left adjustable foot.
   
6. Remove the hinge pin from the plate and turn it 180°. Remount the pin in the hinge so that it protrudes upwards when the hinge is turned.
7. Attach this hinge to the bottom of the appliance on the left-hand side and the adjustable foot on the right. Refit the bottom door to the appliance.
8.  Move the screw covers from one side of the lower door to the other.
9.  Attach the middle hinge.
10. Refit the upper door to the appliance with the hinge.
11. Refit the upper hinge cover.
12. Remove the rubber seals from the doors, turn them over, and replace them.

Use

Temperature Control

The fridge is controlled with a temperature control knob located inside the appliance. Adjust the control knob as desired to suit your individual preference. The higher the number, the colder the temperature. Position 4 is the recommended position for normal use.

• In the 0 position, the appliance does not operate (the cooling system is switched off), but the power supply is not interrupted.
• The running time and temperature are affected by where the fridge is located, how often the door is opened, and the temperature of the room the fridge is located in.

Storage

The higher up in your appliance, the warmer. So whatever spoils fastest (fish, meat, etc.) is best put at the bottom. The door is the least cold because it opens regularly. For the best storage, set up your refrigerating appliance as follows:

• Empty the fridge before moving the shelves or the door racks.
• To move a shelf, raise it and pull it towards you.
• To move a door rack, grip it firmly with 2 hands. Raise the door rack and pull it towards you.

Lighting

The lighting in the fridge is an LED light. LED lights are more ecological and are manufactured for a long life. For this reason, these may not be replaced. If there is a problem with the lighting, contact a qualified service centre in your area.

Moving the Device

If the appliance is turned off for any reason, wait for 10 minutes before turning it back on. This will allow the refrigeration system pressures to equalise before restarting.

• Turn off the appliance and unplug it from the mains socket. Remove all food. Also, remove all mobile parts (shelves, accessories, etc.) or fix them into the fridge to avoid any shock.
• Relocate and install. If the appliance has been left on its side for any length of time, leave it standing upright for at least 2 hours before turning it on.

Storing the Food

The fridge helps to extend the storage times of fresh perishable foods. Fresh food for the best results:

• Store foods that are very fresh and of good quality.
• Ensure that food is well wrapped or covered before it is stored.
• Cool hot foods down before placing them in the fridge.
• This will prevent food from dehydrating, deteriorating in colour, or losing taste, and will help maintain freshness. It will also prevent odour transfer.

Use the freezer

• To store deep-frozen food.
• To make ice cubes.
• Avoid opening the freezer drawers unnecessarily.

Purchasing frozen food

• Packaging must not be damaged.
• Use by the ‘use by/best before/best by/’ date.
• If possible, transport deep-frozen food in an insulated bag and place it quickly in the freezer.

Packing frozen food

To prevent food from losing its flavour or drying out, place food in airtight packaging.

1. Place food in packaging.
2. Remove air.
3. Seal the wrapping.
4. Label packaging with contents and dates of freezing.
5. Suitable packaging: plastic film, tubular film made of polyethene, aluminium foil, freezer containers.

Vacation

For short vacation periods, leave the control knobs at their usual settings. During longer absences, take the following measures:

• Remove all foods.
• Disconnect from the electrical outlet.
• Clean the appliance thoroughly.
• Leave the doors open to avoid possible formations of condensate, mould, or odours.

Power Failure

Most power failures are corrected within an hour or two and will not affect your refrigerator temperatures. However, you should minimise the number of door openings while the power is off. During power failures of longer duration, take steps to protect your food by putting dry ice on top of packages.

Cleaning & Maintainance

• Do not use abrasive cleaning agents or solvents.
• Turn the appliance off. Disconnect the mains plug from the mains socket.
• Take out the food and store it in a cool location.
• Clean the appliance with a soft cloth, warm water, and detergent
• Wipe the door seal with clear water only and then wipe dry thoroughly.
• After cleaning, put the plug in the socket and set the desired temperature.
• Put the food back into the appliance.

Defrosting

The refrigerator defrosts fully automatically. While the cooling is running, beads of condensation or hoarfrost form at the back of the refrigerator. This is normal. It is not necessary to wipe off the condensation or frost. The rear panel defrosts automatically.

A layer of frost in the freezer will impair refrigeration of the frozen food and increase power consumption. Remove the layer of frost regularly. Do not scrape off frost or ice with a knife or pointed object. Doing this may damage the refrigerant tubes.

1. Remove the frozen food and place it temporarily in a cool location.
2. Disconnect the appliance from the mains socket.
3. To accelerate the defrosting process, place a pan of hot water on a stand in the freezer.
4. Wipe up condensation with a cloth or sponge.
5. Wipe dry the freezer compartment.
6. Plug in the appliance and adjust the temperature control knob as desired.
7. Put the frozen food back in the freezer.

Troubleshooting

Problems

• The refrigerator does not work.
