Maintenance, Cleaning, and Repair
- Disconnect the plug from the mains power supply before cleaning.
- Take care when emptying the drum, as when full it could weigh up to 24kg.
- Release the two latches located on the drum to remove the motor housing.
- Empty the drum using the handle grip located on the underside of the drum. Clean with a warm, moist cloth and buff dry. Do not use harsh abrasives or other cleaning aids to clean the vacuum cleaner.
- Clean the filter periodically by gently beating it over a rubbish bin. If cleaning is not done, the suction power of the vacuum will decrease.
- After cleaning the vacuum cleaner, place the motor housing on the drum and secure the two latches back into place. The correct assembly of the motor housing to the drum ensures that the vacuum inlet and the blower outlet line up vertically.
- Never spray water over the upper section of the vacuum cleaner

FAQs
Q: Can I vacuum ash, hot debris, or sharp objects?
Ans: These substances present significant safety risks and have the potential to harm the device.
Q: Is it safe to use the vacuum outdoors?
Ans: When using it outdoors, make sure to always connect it to a grounded outlet with residual current protection (RCD).
Q: How do I know when the tank is full during wet vacuuming?
Ans: When the liquid level hits the safe limit, the vacuum’s built-in float valve mechanism immediately cuts off suction. Empty the tank right away if the suction abruptly stops while vacuuming water.
Q: Is the vacuum self-standing?
Ans: Indeed, the HWD10 can stand erect and move comfortably on most surfaces because of its strong drum base and wheels.
Q: How long is the power cord?
Ans: With a usual length of 4 to 5 meters (13 to 16 feet), the power cable provides good mobility for cleaning the garage or moving from room to room.
Q: How loud is the HWD10 during operation?
Ans: It runs between 75 to 80 dB, which is about the same as most shop vacuums. It is not too loud, but it is also not whisper-quiet.
Q: What is the warranty period?
Ans: Depending on your location, Hoover usually provides a limited warranty of either one or two years. The warranty does not cover abuse damage or worn parts like filters, but it does cover manufacturing faults.
