FAQs
Q: Can I use paper filters or the permanent filter?
The DO417KT may come with a permanent reusable filter, depending on the model version. Standard paper basket filters are another option if you’d like (see the handbook for the suggested size).
Q: How long does brewing take?
Typically, a full carafe takes 8 to 12 minutes to brew. Smaller amounts brew more quickly. Grind level and water temperature affect time.
Q: Does the machine have a keep-warm function?
Indeed. The hot plate keeps your coffee warm for a short while after it has been brewed. To conserve energy and prevent the jug from overheating, turn off the machine when not in use.
Q: Can I remove the carafe during brewing?
Indeed. When the carafe is removed, the anti-drip feature on the DO417KT typically stops the flow. To prevent overflow, return it in a matter of seconds.
Q: Can I brew with hot water?
Use only fresh, cold water. Hot water can alter flavour and interfere with temperature calibration.
Q: Can I use the machine to make tea?
Indeed. You can use the machine to make hot water without coffee and then steep tea on your own. Avoid putting loose tea straight into the filter basket.
Q: Does the DO417KT have an automatic shut-off?
After a predetermined amount of time, the majority of models have a safety auto shut-off feature. To verify precise timing, consult your handbook.
Q: Can I brew a partial pot of coffee?
Indeed. The machine makes its own adjustments. For a consistent flavour, make sure you keep the coffee-to-water ratio constant.
