    Safety Instructions

ALWAYS be sure the plug fits tightly into the outlet when using your Lasko T12110 Twist Top Tower Fan. When plugs fit loosely into outlets, they may slip partially out of the outlet and create a poor connection. This may cause outlets to overheat and create a potential fire hazard.

ALWAYS unplug the power cord of your Lasko T12110 Twist Top Tower Fan when servicing, cleaning, or moving the Fan. DO NOT use the ON/OFF switch as the sole means of disconnecting power. NEVER leave children unattended when the Fan is on or plugged in. ALWAYS turn off and unplug the Fan when not in use.

THIS FAN HAS A POLARIZED PLUG (one blade is wider than the other). Match the wide blade to the wide slot in the outlet and FULLY INSERT. DO NOT attempt to bypass or defeat this safety feature. If the plug does not fit in the outlet, consult a qualified electrician.

    • AVOID the use of extension cords, power strips, power taps, outlet-style air fresheners, or other cord-connected devices, as these devices may overheat and cause a fire hazard.
    • DO NOT route the power cord under rugs, carpets, runners, or furniture.
    • This may damage the cord or cause it to overheat, creating a fire hazard.
    • DO NOT block, cover, or obstruct air flow to or from the Fan while in operation.
    • This Fan is not suitable for use in hazardous locations.

    Operation

    1. Carefully remove the Heater from the bag and the carton.
    2. Place the Heater on a firm, level surface.

    5. Turn the Heater ON by pressing the Power Button.
    6. Upon turning the Heater on, the unit will be in HIGH heat (1500 Watts). (Figure 1)

    3. When the air temperature reaches 3º above the set temperature, the heater will turn off.
    4. The Heater will cycle off and on in the LOW mode to maintain the set temperature.

    Oscillation

Pressing the Oscillation Button ( ) will allow the Heater to oscillate back and forth. To stop the oscillation, press the Oscillation Button ( ) again. When the Heater is in Automatic Temperature Control, the oscillation function will stop when the set temperature is reached and resume when the Heater turns back on.

    Timer Function

The Lasko 5538 Ceramic Tower Heater timer function may be activated when the heater display is in any function or speed (Figure 3). This feature allows you to set the length of time the heater will run before turning itself off, from 1 hour to 8 hours. Pressing the Timer Button will increase the length of time by 1 hour each time this button is pressed.

After the display reflects 8 hours, pressing the Timer Button once more will reset the Lasko 5538 Ceramic Tower Heater to run continuously. The heater will automatically turn off when the set time has elapsed. The unit can be turned back on by pressing the Power Button.

    2. The display will now reflect the temperature, and the temperature will be flashing.

    5. Once the room temperature reaches 2 degrees above the set temperature, the Heater will shut off. Once the room temperature reaches 1 degree below the set temperature, the Heater will turn back on and continue to cycle off and on to maintain the set temperature.
    6. This function will cancel if the ( ) button is pressed.

    2. After the Heater has cooled down, plug the unit into a 120V~ electrical outlet and follow the operation instructions described in this manual.

    Maintainance

    • Always unplug the cord before moving, servicing, or cleaning.
    • NEVER place the Heater in or near water.
    • Vacuum intake grills every two weeks; this will help to maintain the optimum Heater performance.
    • Use a toothbrush or other soft-bristle brush to gently loosen any dirt not removed by the vacuum.
    • NEVER attempt to take apart the Heater.
    • Clean the body of the Heater with a soft cloth only.
    • NEVER use ALCOHOL or SOLVENTS such as gasoline, benzene, paint thinner, or other harsh cleaners

    Troubleshooting

    1. Be sure the power cord is plugged into a working electrical outlet. Check your Temperature setting.
    2. The Heater may be off because it has reached the desired temperature setting.
    3. If your Heater runs for several minutes and shuts off repeatedly, your Heater may require cleaning. See Maintenance section below.

    FAQs

Q: How does the ceramic heating element work?

When energy flows through the ceramic element, it quickly heats up, and the integrated fan distributes warm air throughout the space. This guarantees quick, effective, and steady heating without causing the air to become dry.

Q: Can I adjust the temperature manually?

Indeed. To adjust your ideal temperature, which is usually between 60°F and 85°F (15°C and 29°C), use the temperature up/down buttons on the control panel or remote.

Q: What is the oscillation feature?

Oscillation allows the heater to rotate side to side, dispersing warm air evenly around the space. To activate or deactivate this feature, press the “Oscillation” button on the control panel or remote.

Q: Does the heater include a remote control?

Indeed. The Lasko 5538 has a remote control that allows you to change the power, oscillation, and temperature from anywhere in the room.

Q: Can I disassemble the heater for deep cleaning?

No, it is not possible to service the heater’s internal parts. The warranty may be invalid if the housing is opened. Only clean the vents and exterior components that are easily accessible.

Q: Does the heater have a timer function?

Indeed. You may program the built-in timer to shut off the heater automatically after one to eight hours of continuous use. To change in one-hour increments, press the timer button.
