FAQs
Q: What is the Sealey EV18 Arc Flash Face Shield designed for?
When working on electric vehicles, live electrical panels, batteries, and high-voltage components, the EV18 is designed to shield the wearer’s face and eyes from arc flash risks up to 1000V AC.
Q: What level of arc flash protection does the EV18 provide?
The face shield provides excellent thermal, optical, and impact resistance and satisfies requirements for 1000V electrical protection.
Q: Is the face shield suitable for mechanical tasks or grinding?
Although the shield is impact-resistant, it is not intended for cutting or grinding activities that produce sparks or metal particles. For those purposes, use a grinding visor that has been certified.
Q: Does the EV18 shield protect against UV and IR radiation?
Indeed. When performing electrical work that involves bright flashes and high-energy light, the lens’s complete UV and IR protection helps lower the danger of eye damage.
Q: How do I adjust the headband for proper fit?
To make the shield fit comfortably and securely on your head, turn the crank to tighten or loosen the band.
Q: What should I do if the visor fogs up?
Verify that the visor is dry and clean. Although the EV18 features an anti-fog coating, air circulation can be necessary in humid conditions. Use a microfiber towel to gently clean the visor; stay away from harsh chemicals that can harm the covering.
